Who am I? Mr. Joel Falgui

I am an educator, formator, and faculty member with the Ateneo de Manila University's Junior High School. I have been teaching English for the last 27 years. I am the very proud husband of Raissa, an award-winning and published children's author, and the very blessed father of three children. I am also a candidate for the degree of a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I have added a short blog about myself and what I had been studying during the pandemic at this link.

Welcome to ateneo JHS SY 2026-2027,
 GR. 10 Students!

     Every year, for the past 14 years of the last 27 years I have been teaching, I have been updating this post so as to welcome a new batch of students. While every year is unique, we have in the span of the last 8 years gone from quarantined and online due to the pandemic to cautious and hybrid to finally back to fully onsite.  Whereas before we were grappling with changes brought about by the pandemic, now we are faced with changes due to the rise of AI and the uncertainty in the world from the Trump US Presidency's war against Iran. Despite our challenging circumstances, let's look at the opportunities available to us this year.

     Welcome to the challenges and opportunities of school year 2026-2027, our Junior High School (AJHS) students!

     While I will be teaching two classes of regular English program and one class of advanced English  program students in grade 10 for this year, this site will still be for all Ateneo de Manila Junior High Grade 9 and 10 students to use as a venue for developing their English skills.

     In addition, the parents of AJHS Grade 9 and 10 English class students can use this site to help their children become better students and better persons by downloading material from here or recommending materials or links.

     To quote Rizal, let us "sharpen and perfect, polish our mind; but let us also fortify and educate our heart" this School Year 2026-2027!
